Muschi Alti Le Piagge Sangiovese

Muschi Alti Le Piagge Sangiovese is one of those bottles that makes you think: “Why doesn’t this cost more?” It comes from Campagnatico in southern Tuscany, in the heart of the Montecucco area at the foot of Monte Amiata—where Sangiovese gets both sun-ripened fruit and a welcome lift of freshness from the cooler, breezier microclimate.

Made from 100% Sangiovese, it’s fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and then aged for 12 months in French Allier tonneaux. The result is a Tuscan red with classic energy—wrapped in a modern, rounded, seriously approachable style.

In the glass it shows a deep ruby hue. The nose is clean and elegant with vanilla, cocoa and subtle spice over a juicy core of fruit. On the palate you’ll find dark berries and cherry, finishing dry and savoury, with soft, well-integrated tannins. It has enough structure for food, yet it’s so smooth you’ll happily pour a glass “just because”.

Perfect with: pasta with meat or tomato-based sauces, grilled meats, slow-cooked dishes, game—and firm cheeses. Serve at around 17–18°C.
